About

A pioneer among Minnesota preschools, the Lake Area Discovery Center philosophy lays the foundation for the entire structure of the program.  We believe that…

  • As one of the top St Paul preschools, we must strive to provide children with an environment that fosters the child’s emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual and physical development.
“We have been very impressed with the classes at LADC. Our daughter is in a caring environment that fosters her creativity, intellect and self-esteem. The curriculum taught is a perfect balance of academic themes, creative outlets, Christian connections and fun. Our daughter loves LADC – We feel so fortunate to be enrolled in one of the best St Paul Preschools around!   -2nd year LADC Parent
  • Children entering Lake Area Discovery Center have already established foundations of their personalities. LADC helps children build bridges between their home and school lives.
“I get so encouraged each time my son comes home and is singing worship songs that are imprinting the words of the bible in to his little heart. He is already demonstrating  a love for Jesus and God and I know that the combination of LADC and home have encouraged that growth in him. I wouldn’t want him anywhere else and that’s why we also have our daughter in ‘Terrific Twos’. Well done, LADC.”  -2nd year parent
  • LADC teachers teach to the “whole child”. Special emphasis is placed on success in social situations and academic expectations. The goal is success in Kindergarten and the beginning of a life-long love of learning.
“My son started Kindergarten this fall and I was very impressed with how ready he was for school. His teacher asked me where he went to pre-school. When we told her LADC, she told us how excited they are to receive LADC students- so very ready to start school!”   - 3rd year parent
“I’m studying emergent literacy in a continuing ed class. Everything I am learning talks about the importance of emergent literacy in preschool and is right in line with what LADC does. Thanks for giving my kids the best start possible!!”   – LADC Alumni Parent
  • It is LADC’s goal to provide each child with an opportunity for growth in self-esteem, relationships with peers and adults and to develop positive work habits in both individual and group situations.
“Our son is young for his age group, but we are confident that the positive, Christian-based education he is receiving- from the amazing teachers and staff- will prepare him well socially and academically for kindergarten.”   - 2nd year parent
